Bespoke Corner Fitted Wardrobes for a Sloped Ceiling in South Shields

This bespoke fitted bedroom in South Shields was designed to make the most of an awkward corner layout and sloping ceiling. The finished design combines white shaker-style wardrobes, long brass handles and open oak-effect shelving to create a bright, practical and fully fitted storage solution.

One of the biggest advantages of made-to-measure fitted wardrobes is being able to design around features that standard furniture simply cannot accommodate.

For this bedroom in South Shields, the room had a sloping ceiling on one side, as well as a corner layout that needed to be used efficiently. Rather than losing valuable storage space, the wardrobes were designed specifically around the shape of the room.

The main wardrobes were finished with classic white shaker-style doors and long brass handles, giving the bedroom a clean and elegant appearance. The left-hand section was carefully shaped to follow the angle of the ceiling, allowing the furniture to sit neatly into the available space rather than leaving an awkward gap.

The wardrobes continue around the corner to provide additional storage, while an open oak-effect shelving unit was added at the end of the run. This creates useful display space and adds a warmer contrast against the white fitted furniture.

Because every part of the bedroom was made to measure, the finished wardrobes make far better use of the room than freestanding furniture would have. Awkward ceilings, corners and unusual room shapes can often look like a limitation, but with the right design they can become part of the finished feature.

At NBJ Bedrooms, we design and fit bespoke wardrobes throughout South Shields and the wider North East, with every bedroom planned around the individual room and the customer’s storage requirements.
